Jeanine Corvetto

Co-Founder
Jeanine is an international development professional who has chosen to apply her knowledge to support developing countries address the economic and social needs of citizens. Over her twenty-three year finance and economic development career, Jeanine has moved seamlessly across the public, private and NGO sectors, gaining diverse global experience in corporate, public, micro and small business finance. She has served as resident debt advisor for the US Treasury Department’s Office of Technical Assistance in Peru, the Dominican Republic, Bolivia, West Africa, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. To feed her passion for nature and discovery, Jeanine co-founded Mondo Verde Expeditions, a company that offers transformative travel experiences. She is the co-author of an IFC study titled “A Review of International Markets, Finance and Technical Assistance Models for Eco-lodges in Developing Countries” and has also worked as a consultant to the IDB to develop a community-based tourism business plan for a Peruvian NGO providing technical support to Sierra Productiva, an indigenous sustainable agriculture project outside of Cusco.
In addition to her policy and ecotourism work, Jeanine has served as a senior finance specialist with RTI International, a Vice President in Public Finance with Smith Barney, and a Manager at Citibank Venezuela’s international corporate finance department. Jeanine was awarded a three-year fellowship with the W.K. Kellogg Foundation where she studied spirituality and women in leadership in Thailand, Peru, Tanzania and India. These experiences have lead Jeanine on a two decade-long journey exploring the mind, body & spirit connection through her practice of yoga and Buddhism. For Mondo Verde Expeditions she organizes and leads yoga and spiritual retreats to India, Peru and Italy and she has also led women’s treks on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the Salcantay and Ausangante mountains in Cusco.
These experiences have lead Jeanine on a two decade-long journey exploring the mind, body & spirit connectionthrough her practice of yoga and Buddhism.

She has a bachelor’s degree in international finance from the University of Colorado and a master’s degree in international affairs and economics from Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies. She has lived in Bolivia, Bosnia, Burkina Faso, Dominican Republic, England, France, Italy and Peru. She currently lives in Ecuador serving as resident debt advisor for the US Treasury Department’s Office of Technical Assistance.

In addition to English she speaks Spanish, French and Italian.
